When enrollees are compliant with the terms of their supervision, BluTag Active transmits monitoring data at least once every 10 minutes. If enrollees commit a violation, such as tampering with the device, entering a prohibited zone, leaving a required zone early or not recharging the battery in a timely manner, BluTag Active immediately generates an event notification and transmits it to VeriTracks using nationwide digital cellular phone service.
Once VeriTracks receives the near real-time data, it immediately forwards it to the assigned supervising agent/officer using his or her preferred method of receipt - email, fax, page or text message.
BluTag Active can also be paired with BluHome, our home-based monitoring unit. This occurs most often when supervising agencies are under legislative mandate to monitor the movements of certain enrollee classifications with active GPS technology, but geographic areas within the jurisdiction has insufficient cellular phone network coverage. This situation limits any active GPS monitoring device's ability to transmit near real-time event notifications. By pairing BluTag Active with BluHome, the supervising agency complies with the legislative mandate while working within realistic geographical and technological parameters. Click on the BluHome link to the right for more information.
BluTag Active can also be paired with BluBox, a GPS monitoring accessory, when additional confirmation of an enrollee's presence at a designated location is needed. Click on the BluBox link to the right for more information.
Supervising agents/officers can learn the immediate location of any given enrollee when logged into VeriTracks regardless of the last time BluTag Active transmitted GPS location points. When BluTag Active receives the instruction from VeriTracks, it transmits the most recent set of GPS location points received from the satellites orbiting the earth.
For example, the enrollee is compliant with the terms of his or her supervision and BluTag Active transmits all stored monitoring data at 10:14 a.m. The next scheduled data transmission is 10:24 a.m. as long as the enrollee is compliant. At 10:17 a.m., the supervising agent/officer initiates a Location Request, which causes BluTag Active to immediately transmit the set of GPS location points it received at 10:17 a.m., as well as those received at 10:15 a.m. and 10:16 a.m.
