BluFone™ (voice communication with offender)
Satellite Tracking of People LLC (STOP) solves a major limitation and security risk posed by two-piece device monitoring equipment that use a cellular telephone as the monitoring device. When using this type of equipment, it common for the offender to walk away from the monitoring device or for the equipment to be unavailable for long periods of time while the battery recharges. In either case, the offender’s movements are not monitored. Since the monitoring device is also the voice communication device, the supervising officer has no way to contact the offender or determine his or her present location.
To solve this major limitation, STOP offers supervising agencies with BluFone™, our voice communication accessory and available exclusively with BluTag®.BluFone™ is tethered to BluTag® using a radio frequency (RF) signal.BluFone™ is a standard cellular telephone and restricted to receive only calls from a pre-determined number. If supervising officers need instant communication with offenders, they dial the phone number in the offenders’ profile in VeriTracks®. If the offender forgets to carry BluFone™,VeriTracks® generates a notification and sends it to the supervising officer. However, the offender’s movements are always monitored because BluTag® remains securely attached to the offender’s ankle. The supervising officer only loses the ability to communicate with the offender via voice.
